Anna Perng is a disabled Asian American community organizer who recently joined the White House Office of Public Engagement as Senior Advisor for the aging and disability communities. She previously served as Special Advisor in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Community Living. Prior to joining OPE, Anna served on the Presidential Transition Team and was an appointee at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development during the Obama Biden Administration. When Anna became a parent to two wonderful children with multiple disabilities, a federally qualified health center asked her to help establish a safety net for immigrants with disabilities. She co-founded Chinatown Disability Advocacy Project, a community of immigrants with disabilities, families, service providers, community-based organizations, and government partners advocating for systemic change, language access, disability justice, and inclusion in the Greater Philadelphia area. Anna has served on the Philadelphia Mayor’s Commission on People with Disabilities and helped found the Philadelphia
Parks and Recreation Inclusion Workgroup, works toward inclusive, accessible programming and employment opportunities across one of the largest parks and recreation systems in the country. A first-generation college student, Anna received her B.A. from Swarthmore College. She is a recipient of Art-Reach’s 2021 Individual Impact Award, the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities’ 2021 Champion of Equal Opportunity, and 2022 PCDC Making A Difference Award.
